A Yellow Bow Moment

Who doesn’t love a statement bow, honestly?

When I first saw this outfit in a 1999 Vogue, I actually thought the bow was part of a skirt. Upon further inspection, I now realize that they simply tied a massive yellow bow around the model’s waist which in turn had the desired effect of being the statement piece that the outfit needed.

The rest of the ensemble is a simple, blush bathing suit, or in modern outfitting, a blush bodysuit and a blush cardigan over top. To make this outfit wearable outside of the swimming pool, you could absolutely add a yellow skirt with a massive bow or simply pair the cardigan with a yellow dress that, again, has the massive statement bow.

If the yellow skirt isn’t your thing, or if you do choose to wear this to the pool or beach this summer, you can always include the yellow bow in your accessories, like your shoes or bag. Either way the blush pink and yellow combo makes this outfit a delightfully feminine option for the summer months.
